Pass Master

I got the results of my proficiency test today and was suprised and pleased to find out that I’d passed the third grade exam. This means that I officially can do… nothing. Jobs require at least level 2, which is a much more significant challenge, but it’s nice to know I have some official recognition and something to point to to show I’m improving. At the very least it will be a comfort next time I’m struggling to order food from a menu in a restaurant. Grammar, yes (well, maybe), survival skills, nai.

Big thanks of course to all my teachers at the volunteer school, who literally have taught me everything I know. It would have been totally impossible, rather than merely improbable without them!

Been To The Snow

Came back from another 3 days boarding yesterday and once again it was awesome. Although we only planned to stay one or two days, the opportunity to spend one more day on a different hill was too tempting. As well as Dynaland for the first two days, we also got the chance to go to a resort called Winghills on a reduced ticket meaning that the third day’s pass was only ten quid. We were staying in a great little pension as well, which was only ¥3000 a night. You can’t really get much cheaper than that.
