Getting Sorted

I got myself a mobile phone today which means you can go back to emailing my phone from the about page again and I also opened a bank account so I can get paid if and when I finally get a job. I’ve been looking at finding work in Perth, though to be honest, I haven’t tried too hard. My name is with a recruitment agency and I’ve been in touch with one or two small firms, but it might not happen. If that turns out to be the case, I’ll be off again pretty soon to check out somewhere else.

Continuing my successes with buses, I confidently navigated my way to Cottesloe Beach yesterday for my first taste of an Australian beach. It’s a very nice area on the coast, just outside of the main city. It’s really clean and white and wasn’t crowded at all, but I could only last a couple of hours out there doing nothing before getting bored and going for a walk. The sunsets over the water at Cottesloe are great and sipping a pint in the Cottesloe Hotel bar was a cool end to the day.

Apparently, by now it should be raining regularly, but so far I’ve been lucky and it’s been sunny almost every day. I still can’t get over how big and blue and empty the sky is here. The total lack of clouds on most days is actually quite eerie.
