The Language Instinct
Interesting premise that comprehension of language is something we are born with a priori. The Language Instinct gave me terms for ideas and concepts that I had naturally intuited learning Japanese but could never describe well. A little dry in places, particularly on some of the expositions on sentence structure, but does a describes a plausible link between language and evolutionary theory, and finishes with a feel-good “we are all the same” conclusion.
