How many __x__ does it take to screw in a lightbulb, goes the old joke. Today a friend conclusively proved that for x = Japanese workmen, said number of workmen required is 7. That’s 5 for holding the one layer of scaffolding and 2 for the tricky removal and installation procedure. There were probably a few more around to bow and apologise but he didn’t see them. Japanese over-employment never ceases to amaze me.
